Description
The cross-disciplinary prosody group brings together members of the five LPL teams who all have prosody as one of their main research topics. It organises regular meetings enabling the various members to develop their research.
Since the pioneering studies of the “Aix School” in the 1970s, prosody has been one of the LPL’s primary research areas. Since 2011, the Prosody Cross-disciplinary Group has brought together prosody specialists at the LPL with the aim of conducting methodological and theoretical analyses of the role of prosody in various aspects of language, and to maintain the laboratory’s research in prosody at the highest international level. In the LPL’s new project, the Transversal Prosody Group will continue to play the central role it has assumed since its creation and will contribute decisively to the emergence of new research themes in prosody.
