Mission of the Division
The Experiments and Fieldwork Division supports teaching staff, researchers, and students in conducting laboratory experiments or collecting data in the field, from defining the experimental protocol through to processing AVAPP data: acoustic, video, glottographic (EGG), aerophonometric (airflow and pressure), and perceptual.
The term “fieldwork” refers to situations outside the laboratory: school settings, clinical settings, and national and international contexts.
The division draws on four CEPL Technical Facilities :
• Audio & video
• Behavioral experiments and surveys
• Multiparametric speech data
• Mobile field equipment
| Type of expertise | Member of the division |
| Design, collection of audiovisual materials | C. André |
| Design and implementation of perception experiments and surveys (Perceval, Labvanced) | C. André |
| Processing of audiovisual and behavioral data | C. André |
| Acoustic analysis of speech | A. Ghio |
| R&D, design, collection, and analysis of multi-parameter speech data | A. Ghio |
How the unit works :
• It is advisable to contact the experts early in the project, particularly to anticipate needs, technical feasibility, and the availability of unit members.
• Project prioritization may be necessary if requests for support overwhelm the unit. This prioritization will be governed, in consultation, by the unit’s scientific policy.
• The participation of one or more group members in a project may result in their inclusion in project-related publications, depending on the extent of their participation.
• Group members may offer training courses to help laboratory members become more self-sufficient.
