The LPL hosts around forty doctoral students, often in collaboration with other laboratories or universities. At Aix-Marseille University, most are affiliated with the Doctoral School of Cognition, Language, and Education (ED 356). Many receive doctoral scholarships from the PACA region, the National Research Agency (ANR), the Ampiric cluster, or the ILCB, to name a few examples.
Many doctoral students are heavily involved in the scientific life of the LPL, through participation in conferences and study days and the organization of the Annual Doctoral Students' Day (JAD), which has the dual objective of training and uniting the group. In addition to the involvement of doctoral students in various cross-disciplinary groups, a “Training” group has been created to facilitate and structure the link between training and research by setting up, for example, training courses and informal exchanges within the laboratory, such as the “Doctoral Students' Café” which takes place once a month at the LPL.
Finally, they are heavily invested in teaching, particularly in several departments at Aix-Marseille University, as well as in events for the general public, such as the Fête de la Science, scientific meetings with teachers, and the “Les Recherches dans la Ville” (amU) festival.
